Danaye Shiplett is a professional, published illustrator and author. She specializes in the Children’s and Young Adult genres and also works in freelancing, poetry, and as a copy-writer and editor. She holds a current full-membership to the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (profile).

Danaye grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art/Graphic Design and a minor in English/Creative Writing. She has published several illustrations; articles, essays and poetry within several publications; and, most recently, her first children’s book, titled “Paint My World with Colors”. Above all, Danaye strives to better herself in all aspects of her career. She continues to learn and educate herself in all aspects of illustration and writing, open to and excited about new and innovative ideas. She prides herself on her keen attention to detail and her open and honest relationship with her clients.
